In Germany, ‘kebab’ usually makes people think of doner. In the Arab world the word means something else: skewers of spiced minced meat, grilled over open coals. In Syria they’re often called kebab halabi, after Aleppo; in Iraq they’re the standard dish at every grill house. If that’s the kind of kebab you’re looking for in Mannheim, order our Dunya kebab.

Minced lamb and hot coals

The minced lamb is well seasoned, shaped onto skewers and grilled over the coals. It gets a smoky crust on the outside while staying juicy inside. Lamb is what gives the kebab its full flavour.

What comes with it

Grilled vegetables and spicy chilli bread – the bread soaks up the juices from the grill. On the side, choose white rice or crispy fries.
