Mezze Platter – six starters for the whole table

Six mezze, one table and plenty of bread: our biggest selection of starters, for everyone who wants to tuck in together.

13,90 €vegetarian

Our large mezze selection gathers six specialties in one spread: creamy hummus, muttabal and velvety baba ghanoush, alongside spiced muhammara, nutty kishke and lubya bil zayt. The flavours range from hearty to delicately tangy, finished with fresh mint, pomegranate seeds and vegetables. Warm flatbread from our tandoori oven invites you to share at leisure.

A mezze table should be full. In Arab hospitality, a table crowded with little bowls is a sign that guests are welcome – and an invitation to take your time. Our large mixed starter platter at Dunya in Mannheim puts all that generosity on one plate.

The six mezze at a glance

Alongside the four classics – hummus, moutabal, baba ganoush and muhammara – you’ll find two you don’t see so often:

  • Kishk – bulgur, yoghurt and toasted walnuts, mild and nutty
  • Lubya bil zayt – green beans in olive oil, with a gentle tang

Lubya bil zayt belongs to a whole family of Levantine dishes in which vegetables are braised in olive oil and eaten cold. In Arabic they’re simply called ‘with oil’ – and they’re meat-free.

The range goes from creamy to smoky, savoury and fresh. Fresh mint, pomegranate seeds and vegetables round it off, and the warm flatbread from the tandoor oven ties everything together.

When the large platter makes sense

When there are four or more of you. When it’s going to be a long evening. Or when it’s just the two of you and you’d rather graze your way through the starters than order a main – add something warm like sambousek bil jibne or batata harra and you’ve got a full meal.

If you do want a main, go for something to share: the Dunya Grill Platter or, for a special occasion, kharouf mahshi.

Groups and celebrations

For birthdays, family dinners and team outings, it’s best to book a table via our reservations page. Larger groups can celebrate in our event hall, which holds 70–80 guests, and for parties elsewhere we deliver mezze as catering.
